Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu trekking highlights scenic grandeur, glimpse of Sherpa & Tamang life, lakes, glaciers & snowy mountains. Langtang Helambu trek starts with scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi. The trail passes several Tamang villages, lust rhododendron and pine forest, beautiful valleys with Tibetan settings to Kyangjing surrounded by snowcapped mountains. The route of trekking to Gosainkunda passes through Lauribina Pass ( 4620m.) with excellent view of Tibet and leads to holy Gosainkumda Lake which has become one of the important religious site for both Hindus and Buddhists over the years. Entering into Helambu known for delightful Sherpa villages, trekking in Helambu offers the panoramic views of Himalayas extending from the Annapurnas to Everest.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Meeting at the airport and transfer to a hotel. A briefing of the trekking trip at a convenient time.
Day 02: Kathmandu – Syabrubensi ( 7 – 8 hrs. drive )
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi via Trishuli with magnificent views of Himalayas from Ranipauwa.
Day 03: Syabrubensi – Lama Hotel ( 2380m., 5 – 6 hrs. )
Descend and cross Langtang Khola and hike up through a gorge along rhododendron forest to Lama Hotel.
Day 04: Lama Hotel – Langtang Village ( 3430m., 5 – 6 hrs )
Hike up through the valley with great views of Langtang Lirung, pass water mills, prayer wheels and chortens to Langtang.
Day 05: Langtang Village – Kyanjing Gompa ( 3870m., 5 – 4 hrs )
Pass through yak pastures & mani walls to Kyanjing Gompa, the last village in Langtang with a lovely Buddhist monastery under the shadow of stunning Himalayas and glaciers.
Day 06: Exploration Day
Explore around the rugged and beautiful mountain ranges ringed with glaciers, snowfalls and huge moraines with great views of Langtang Lirung (7,246 m.), Langtang Ri (7,239 m.), Lanpo Gang (7100 m.) and Dorji Lakpa (6,989 m). Option of hiking to Tserko Ri ( 4984m.)
Day 07: Kyanjin Gompa – Lama Hotel ( 2380m., 6 – 7 hrs )
Hike through yak pastures, crossing several wooden bridges to Lama Hotel.
Day 08: Lama Hotel – Syabru ( 2210m., 5 – 6 hrs. )
Walk downhill crossing the Langtang Khola and passing though lush green vegetation enjoying the spectacular view of larch, flowers and the valley and then ascend to Syabru.
Day 09: Syabru – Sing Gompa (3254m.5 – 6 hrs.)
A beautiful day of climbing through forests of fir and rhododendron to Sing Gompa (3254m).
Day 10: Sing Gompa – Gosainkunda Lake (4300m., 6 – 7 hrs)
Steep rugged trail with magnificent views of Himal Chuli (7893m), Manaslu (8156m) and Ganesh peak (7460m). Ascend to a ridge passing Lauribina for the first sight of Gosainkunda (4300m).
Day 11: Gosainkunda – Ghopte ( 3430m., 7 – 8 hrs.)
Continue hike over rugged trails pasings small lakes to Lauribinayak pass (4609m). and then descend through rocky hills with pine and rhododendron trees to Ghopte.
Day 12: Ghopte – Melamchigaon ( 2530m., 6 – 7 hrs.)
Several ups and downs through the patches of forests to to enter Helambu region with beautiful Sherpa villages. Climb to a ridge above the village with views of Jugal Himal. Descend to Melamchi River and ascend after crossing it to Melamchigaon
Day 13: Melamchigaon – Tarkeghyang (2600m., 5 – 6 hrs.)
Descend to Melamchi Khola passing through the patches of pine forest and ascend after crossing it to a beautiful Sherpa viallage, Tarkeghyang.
Day 14: Tarkeghyabg – Sermathang ( 2490m., 4 – 5 hrs.)
Climb to a ridge for nice view of Shermathang and walk through ridge along pine forest and descend gradually to Sermathang.
Day 15: Sermathang – Melamchi Pul Bazar ( 4 – 5 hrs.) – Drive to Kathmandu ( 3 hrs.)
Visit a large Gompa at the southern end of Sermathang, walk through the ridge and pass villages, several chortens and finally descend to Melamchi Pul Bazar. Drive to Kathmandu.
Day 16: Airport transfer
Transfer to airport for departure.

- An experienced English speaking trek leader ( trekking guide ) and assistant trekking guide ( for the group of above 4 trekking members ), and porters ( one porter between two trekkers ) to carry luggage including their meals, accommodation, wages, equipment and accident insurance.
