Everest View Trekking – A Fabulous Short Trek in Khumbu with Great Views of Himalayas Including Mt. Everest
Everest view trekking is also known as Everest Valley trekking. The trek is best suited to the trekkers who are unable to go in high altitude due to their physical condition. The trek is ideal for the families with their kids as well. Everest view trekking takes you through magnificent Sherpa villages under the shadow of snow capped peaks.
The trek provides the opportunities to have close observation and experience of vibrant Sherpa culture, custom and their daily life. The main festivals of Sherpas, such as Mani Rimdu, Dumji can be observed in this trekking. The magnificent views of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thaserku and several other mountains is the main highlight of Everest view trekking.
You will be amazed by the visit to ancient and gorgeous Buddhist monasteries perched on the shadow of towering snow peaks in the trekking trail. The visit to the monasteries and their magnificent arts and paintings depicting ancient Buddhist culture add more charm of Everest view trekking. The red robbed monks of the monasteries and their daily rituals can be observed in this trekking.
Everest View Trekking Route Details
Everest view trekking starts with exciting flight to Lukla. The trek takes you to Namche, a well know Sherpa town in high mountains. Scrolling around Namche gives you the general insight of Sherpas trade. Trekkers can have the access from western bakeries to cyber cafes and pubs to spend their time in Namche. A small hike to Everest View Hotel for one and half hour takes to Everest View Hotel for the great views of the high Himalayas including Mt. Everest. Considerable amount of time can be spent on marveling at the magnificent views of Himalayas and the nature scenery around.
Tengboche, the town well know for Tengboche Monastery is the last destination of Everest view trekking. The visit to Tengboche Monastery gives the insight of Tibetan Buddhism. On the return, you pass Khumjung, a typical Sherpa town set on beautiful valley and return to Lukla. Everest view trekking is more or less a leisurely walk with gradual ascends and descends in the mountains.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Greet at the airport and transfer to hotel. Briefing of the trip at the convenient time.
Day 02: Kathmandu – Lukla – Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft): 3 – 4 hrs.
Transfer to airport for the flight of half an hour to Lukla with great views of the mountains. Easy walk to Phakding for approximately three hours.
Day 03: Phakding – Namche Bazaar (3440 m): 5 – 6 hrs
Walk through beautiful pine forest passing Dhudhkosi River crossing several suspension bridges to Namche with sights of Kusum Kangru, Everest & Nuptse.
Day 04: Exploration Day at Namche Bazaar
Hike up to Everest View Hotel for better views of Everest and acclimatization. A pleasant day to explore around Namche talking to the Sherpas and marveling at the incredible scenery.
Day 05: Namche Bazzar to Tengboche (3,870m) – 5 – 6 hrs.
Hike up and down through forest and mani stones to Tengboche (3870m.). Great views of Kwangde (6,187m.), Everest (8,848m.),Nuptse ( 7,879m.), Lhotse, Tawache & Amadablam.
Day 06: Axploration day in Tengboche.
Visit famous Tengboche monastery and hike to Pangboche for magnificent views of Amadablam and retrace to Tengboche.
Day 07: Tengboche – Khumjung (3780m.): 4 hrs.
Descend to Khumjung, a beautiful Sherpa village at the foot of the sacred peak of Khumbila and visit Khumjung Gompa which possesses what is said to be the skull of yeti, an elusive snow man.
Day 08: Khumjung – Namche (3440m.): 2 hrs.
Ascend to a ridge and gradually descend through the pine and rhododendron forest to Namche.
Day 09: Namche Bazaar-Lukla (2,800m): 6 – 8 hrs
Following rocky terrain and crossing Dhudhkosi several times, descend to Lukla.
Day 10: Lukla – Kathmandu Flight.
Fly Lukla – Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. Farewell dinner at one of the finest typical
Nepali restaurant with traditional Nepali culture program.
Day 11: Free in Kathmandu
Free for your personal activities or can be used as spare day in case of flight cancellation from Lukla due to bad weather.
Day 12: Airport transfer for your onward journeys.
Airport transfer for international departure.
Note: Kathmandu – Lukla – Kathmandu flight may be delayed by few hours or even cancelled due to bad weather condition. You should be prepared for such flight delays or cancellations. We will do our best to avoid such conditions. In case of flight cancellation, we will try to get you on the flight for the next day. Getting early flight for the next day may be not possible during the high season. We can arrange flight by helicopter as well with extra cost. If we have a group of 4- 5 people, we can charter helicopter for you to fly from Kathmandu – Lukla or vice versa. It will be advisable to have extra days in Kathmandu before and after the trekking. Ang Rita Trek & Expedition can arrange you cultural / adventure tours (such as sightseeing tours, rafting, jungle safari,) with extra cost if the extra days are not used for the flight conditions to Lukla and back.
If the flight is delayed and cancelled for several days which could disturb your onward journey, you are free to choose trekking in Annapurna, Langtang and other regions. Ang Rita Trek & Expedition will arrange the alternative trek for you as soon as possible.

- An experienced English speaking trek leader ( trekking guide ) and assistant trekking guide ( 4 trekking members ), and porters ( one porter between two trekkers ) to carry luggage including their meals, accommodation, wages, equipment and accident insurance.
